When nations like Germany and Japan had their cities turned into rubble and American boots marched through them in victory, those nations were changed.
But wars like that aren’t being fought anymore. We pursue limited wars in the Vietnam vein with this ISIS thing being the most limited of all.
These “wars” might benefit defense contractors but they aren’t won like WW II.
American boots in Islamabad and Mecca would have been a good result of September 11th since Al-Quaeda and the Taliban had their roots there, but W initiated what ended up being a Vietnam style war with fewer casualties.....
You mean, if I spend all kinds of time fixing my neighbors yard, working in his garden, and making sure his house is safe from all threats,,, his standard of living goes up?
Apologists notwithstanding, it is way distant from the American ideal that we should be in an almost constant state of war. Even if its good for the other countries, it corrodes OUR freedom to be in war without end.
