PRINCETON, N.J. -- As controversy continues to swirl about police officers' treatment of blacks, an analysis of Gallup data underscores how much less likely U.S. blacks are than whites or Hispanics to express confidence in the police. The analysis also reveals that blacks living in urban areas are significantly less likely than blacks in non-urban areas to say they are confident in the police.

It is pretty obvious that the police have a higher confidence level of getting shot, deemed racist, or accused of racial profiling when they respond to that “urban” area. The fact that they respond at all into that no-win situation says legion about the general dedication of the LEOs. Remember the riots in Cincinnati? The police were damned if they responded and damned if they did not, the only difference being that if they did not respond, they were pretty sure they could go home after their shift.
I would have low confidence in them if they kept arresting me.
The blacks in my city say they don’t trust the police, they don’t like the police, and they want city government to send more police to their neighborhoods because crime is too high. (But they don’t say all three at the same time.)
Only goes to prove the cops aren’t racist. When a Black and White pulls over a black, the black doesn’t know know if the cops are black or white.
I would think you would have a high confidence in them if they kept arresting you every time you violated the law. How many times have you been arrested for not breaking the law?
Give us another few years.....
I wonder what would happen if the headline was “U.S. and Police Have Little Faith in Urban Blacks”.
If I were part of a criminal class, I’d feel the same way.
Police arresting more criminals might interfere with their primary responsibility of raising revenue for the welfare state and getting home without incident.
Most have “no confidence” because they have criminal tendencies (upon which they often act).
I have little confidence in urban blacks in US.
Solution: pull the police out of black neighborhoods and let them kill themselves.
Yet they seem to have the utmost in confidence in the Democratic party, the group most responsible for the wretched state of urban black Americans.
I, even though being of Sicilian Heritage, would say that in the old says a lot of Italians would have said the same thing. Cops just get in the way of making a living; or beating down someone you just don’t like or even hate.
I have little confidence in police. They have become too militarized and too eager to disarm the citizenry. White, black, brown or pink.
Police and America don’t have in any them either.
I don’t really give a **** what these people think.
How many urban areas are governed by the Democrap Party?
Perhaps if they contributed something to the country, their opinion might matter, but until then......
