Iran is an area about the size of Europe... Without Russia, Iran is almost as large as Europe is (well, if you take away Spain, Sweden, Finland, and Norway). But remember that much of Russia is actually a part of Europe (although some of Russia is in Asia).

Lord knows they try hard enough to be European and can even be trained to sing opera and dance in ballet companies. Good folks. But Russians, not Europeans. Drink some vodka with them. You'll get the picture.
