All by design friend...all intentional and calculated by by government paid actuaries who know exactly ow to squeeze the most out of you without paying anything or at least far less in than they pay out. It’s one of the best cons ever perpetrated on America brought on by one SC Justice Roberts, soon to be listed as one of the most hated men in America because he allowed himself to be blackmailed by a socialist thug wrought on destroying an entire nation for a Satanic madman’s NWO fantasy...

If they avoid the doctor to avoid paying their deductible then they will probably never reach the point that the insurance company has to start helping them with expenses.

Insurance is supposed to help with the big expenses, not the small. Otherwise you're not talking about an insurance plan but a health care plan, two different things. A great many people who don't want to pay for exams because they're under the deductible could actually afford to but choose not to.

People paying out of pocket and being price-conscious is one of the things necessary to control the cost of health care. Unfortunately without price transparency and with preferential pricing that is very difficult to do.

I will add that having insurance cover ordinary doctor’s visits is one of the things that makes going to the doctor so expensive, as the doctor has to hire extra staff and occasionally do battle with the insurance companies himself. It’s also one of the things that really limits the time doctors spend with patients.

Every now and then I read about primary care doctors who decides not to deal with insurance companies and runs a practice on a cash basis, charging around $40 a visit and makes a better living than before, with far less stress. These are doctors who treat the ordinary people and not those who can afford the $2000 or so upfront for concierge care.

If its that bad, then Obamacare should be reversed 100 percent reversed, but oops, the Republicans aren’t doing that.

The GOPe gives us this tragic emotional story while they pass a budget to budget to continue funding Obamacare, Amnesty and pay for all kinds of pork everywhere.

P.T. Barnum spoke of a “sucker being born every minute”.

I’m not a “sucker” anymore for the political show.....

Why do you think so many former script drugs have suddenly gone OTC at the lowest dose. People who cannot afford a doctor or O’care with self medicate. We have been doing it for centuries.

Problem is if there is a underlying health issue. Or people not KNOWING the side effects of the OTC drugs they take. To much Advil or Aleve will lead to GERD. Then you will need Nexium or other GERD meds, which leads to Bone Density issues called Osteoporosis. And every one of the OP drugs have a high FDA warning on them. Reclast and Boniva are the worst, with Foreto being Black Box labelled.

WARNINGS OP DRUGS Kidney failure deaths, A Fib, Jaw Degeneration and A Typical Femur Fractures

Reclast has the highest warning.

Reclast UPS kidney failure, A FIB risk. Not to be given to Asthma patients.

Like most useful medications, Forteo may have its possible downside. In animals, it promotes the development of osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer. In humans, osteosarcoma has not been reported but it remains a concern with Forteo. (The daily injections are also a downside.)

Vicious circle.
