Waters warns House Dems against intimidation as Obama chief of staff arrives

The fight over the “cromnibus” began as an internecine battle within the Republican Party — which is nothing new for the GOP on Capitol Hill when it comes to budgets. Over the past few hours, though, it’s turned into a civil war among Democrats, especially between progressives in Congress and the White House. Barack Obama spent the afternoon on the phone attempting to whip enough House Democrats to vote for the bill, while Nancy Pelosi declared herself opposed to the bill and whipped her caucus to stand firm. As noted in an update in the earlier post, Obama sent his chief of staff Denis McDonough to push Democrats to get back on board:

Fox News is told that President Obama and Vice President Biden were calling House Democrats appealing for their support. White House Chief of Staff Denis McDonough also arrived on the Hill late Thursday to meet with the Democratic caucus. Meanwhile, House GOP leaders were trying to sway conservative members who, for different reasons, were opposed to the package.

Never thought I'd see the day I was on the side of Rep. Maxine Waters, but GO WATERS!!

(P.S. Keep calling your Reps and Senators and asking them to oppose this, even if they're Democrats): 202-224-3121. If you cannot get through try email/fax/twitter.

If this passes, Repubs are dead to me.

Dems have been dead to me for so long that their graves no longer stink.

Boner could easily end up with half of the ‘rats voting with him.

Not all of those 'rats have a "D" after their name. Some have an "R".

This is all theater to make Obama look centrist and a deal broker.

yeah, you know something is really wrong when the raving socialist lunatic of the U.S. House gives good, sound, political advice.

Funny and scary both.

“Matt Fuller

Retiring appropriator Jim Moran says Republicans need 80 Democrats to vote for the cromnibus. He says they can probably get 50-60.”

Moran’s lying, they need more like 100.

I love it when three commie bitches fight (Waters vs. Obama) and (Pelosi vs. Obama).

Those “progressives” who met in Waters’ office were highly like the most Marxist members of the “Congressional Progressive Caucus), a caucus of about 80 reds who span the ideological Left from Castro to Ortega to Marx and Lenin.

For more on this caucus, see both www.keywiki.org and “www.DiscoverTheNetwork.org”.

Actually it is Pelosi who is on your side. Waters is supporting the Obama COS, who is supporting Boehner's bill.

It is easy to follow the pea. Just remember that Boehner is the sell out and everything is clear.

If this bill passes with a majority of "yes" votes from Democrats and a Majority of Republicans voting "no", what the hell do we do then?

Surely there would then be a " majority of the majority" to throw Boner out on his a$$?

Why the hell, with his paltry vote count is this man still SOH? Going against his own base AND their representatives in the House? And winning with the minority?

No, hell no. This can't happen.

That’s not the case here.
There are about 100 Rs who’ll vote against the bill, and Boehner has about 140 Rs who will vote for the bill.

This, by the way, is a better reason why Boehner has to go.
He NEVER cares what those 100 want.
I don’t mind getting the ‘short end’ since we have fewer numbers- but we never get anything.
