Iowa replaces drivers license with app

Next year, the Iowa Department of Transportation will experiment with issuing drivers licenses via an app. The digital license will display a 3-D photo of the driver's face, which can be rotated side to side so law enforcement can better match the licensee to the picture.

I still would want a card in m wallet. What if I leave the phone at home when I use the car and get stopped by a cop?
Also, any personal document online is subject to all manner of hacking and mutilation.

What happens if your phone provider makes a mistake, cancels payment for a late payment not received, or a payment lost in the mail, or your bank makes a mistake, or you change service or change phones? What happens if you loose your phone and you get pulled over? What happens when someone who looks like you steals your phone? What happens when someone hacks all your info off your phone and the cop does not recognize it? What happens when..............

“Replaces drivers license with app?” Baloney. Not everyone has a so-called smart phone, and many will continue to shun them. No one will be successful in mandating that everyone be forced to buy one.
