Pew poll confirms amnesty a danger to gun rights
Examiner.com ^ | December 12, 2014 | David Codrea

Survey results made public Wednesday by Pew Research Center show public support for protecting gun rights on the rise across all demographics except for two notable categories, “liberal Democrats” and “Hispanics.” [A]ttitudes expressed by Hispanics show overwhelming rejection of pro-gun political sentiment. With only 25 percent favoring laws protecting the right to own guns, 71 percent want government to “control ownership.” That tracks with warnings issued by Gun Owners of America, curiously alone among national gun rights advocacy groups. GOA has warned that amnesty for illegal aliens, and a "pathway to citizenship," will provide for millions of new anti-gun voters with the electoral clout to undo all hard-won legislative and judicial gains gun owners have enjoyed in recent years. With other gun groups justifying their inaction to take on amnesty under the “single issue” excuse that it's not directly about guns... If holdout gun organizations neither make politicians accountable for amnesty support, nor make the developing political gun rights threat known to their members, most gun owners may remain unaware, uninformed and unconvinced until it’s too late for them to seek political solutions.

creating an overwhelming block of voters that support the Democratic Party

Illegal immigrants can't vote; it will take them about three years to gain citizenship as things stand now....by the time the new citizen can vote, America will have thrown off the cloak of Socialism...it is unsustainable in any country...new Americans come from Dictatorships and shaky Socialist governments...I like to think some of them have more brains than our undereducated and misinformed Americans.

This, more than any other reason, may explain the rush to import as many from the Hispanic third world to the US as possible. They come from a country where the notion of a Constitution is a joke, and most, if not all, probably have no concept of such a thing as a Constitution.

Their way of life is daily subservience to force, whether from a caudillo or a gang. They’d gladly trade the chance to continue their way of life in peace in exchange for a table full of free goods, which, unbeknownst to them is a diversion from the reality that they will also be kept in abject ignorance and virtual illteracy. And that will profit the democrat party, which lusts after one-party rule more than anything else on earth.

With all due respect, fellow Texan-my ancestors came to live in what is now Texas 250+ years ago-I’ve never met an anti-gun Hispanic-not even a green card holder. Not too many of my family live in big cities-just don’t like them-so maybe it is different there, but in the rural areas everyone is wisely armed...

“An epic saga about families of Mexican peasants and their persecution by the elite”

It has been done many, many times by Spanish language film makers-the first one I remember, my mom took us to see when I was about 5, at the theater in town, which showed Spanish language films on Thursdays.

I think it would make a great topic for a few English language films to be shown here-people in Mexico-and old families here-are well aware of the abuse of the caste system there over several 100’s of years-it is why so many of our families came to Texas and New Mexico shortly after leaving Spain for Mexico, only to find that Mexico was nearly as bad-the recent immigrants-especially in California-who do not read history are the ones needing to see a film like that.

A lot of Mexican history is really hideous and cruel. But there is one good recent movie out there, about the revolt of Catholics when Catholicism was officially suppressed.

For Greater Glory: The True Story of Cristiada (2012) A chronicle of the Cristeros War (1926-1929); a war by the people of Mexico against the atheistic Mexican government.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1566501/reference

Importantly, it cost $12 million, but only made $9 million at the box office. As you might expect, the critics absolutely hated it, with only an 18% score at Rotten Tomatoes. At the same time, the public liked it a lot, with a 78% score. The MSM almost refused to review it, to deny it publicity.

It is out on DVD and available at Netflix. Rated R for extreme violence and graphic imagery.

A complacent society that allows those in power to ignore the Constitution is the biggest threat to gun rights.

I am not surprised by that - but the white flight from the Democrat party will continue if they continue to get more radical, more pro illegal, more pro Af Am....more anti gun, etc.

In California in 1970`s, 1980`s, 1990`s, 2000`s all the Chicanos & Mexicans I knew, illegal or legal all had guns [mostly had pistolas] coz they would all shoot them up in the air at New Year`s at midnight. The cops never bothered them coz they knew they would be in a Mexican standoff. I would chance to say that most Latinos in California are heavily armed with pistolas.

You can check the San Jose Mercury News that warns people not to shoot their pistolas at NEW YEAR`s Midnight coz the bullets come down and strike people in the head.

It`s a Fact, Jack! This survey is pure bullshts commie propaganda.

There is a fact that liberals consistently ignore-Hispanic is an ethnic group-it is not-repeat not-a race. It includes people descended from Spanish ancestors, and we can be any color/race, but most of us are Caucasian/”white”-which adds considerably to the flight from the democrat party...

I know very little about Hispanics in California-and the few I met do not even seem to be from the same ethnic group as me, although they are-but I was raised in-and I live in a rural area-I’ve been around firearms all my life-I do not know anyone who does not own at least one pistol and a long gun-usually a shotgun, and knows how to use those guns.

People here in rural areas have mostly substituted fireworks for pistols on New Years eve, but they still shoot in cities. I can’t imagine where Pew did their survey, since they obviously didn’t do it in Texas or parts of California-maybe they found anti-gun Latinos in Boston?

"You cannot take away our rights by bringing in illegal aliens, unassimilated to America, to vote for your socialist tyrannical state. "

Yep! Nothing aimed at re-acquiring our unalienable rights as protected by the former Constitution is remotely possible through the electoral process.

We have been warned for over 100-years of this apocalyptical descent into (as the last "real American president prophesied) the next 1000 years of darkest tyranny.

No tyranny in history has ever existed with the level of technology enhanced control over its serfs as our current rulers at the federal and state levels have acquired permanently.

Starting with TR and, more recently, cemented into permancy by Presidents like Johnson, Nixon, Carter, Bush the elder, Clinton, Bush the son, and Soetoro, a foreign-born moslem communist.

One, and only one, alternative, as carefully described by the Founding Fathers, remains.
