Bankrupting a country is generally a first rate way to lose you job.
He seems to an incompetent guy in foreign affairs, like a little North Korean bull in a China shop, floundering around, blustering and making feints everywhere, making outrageously impossible claims and threats that are just laughable, yet insane sounding.
Very similar to the man that we see with the semi nude photographs doing all the he-man activities, hunting shirtless, riding horses shirtless, fishing shirtless, yet without tanning, or sunburning, or seemingly any exposure to sunlight, he pulls trophy fish from streams without his clothes getting wet or dirty after a day of fishing and pulling in the photo op at the end of his line, and the diving discoveries and bizarre (again North Korean) type super everything guy from science to wild animals, to sports, to exploring.
The 5’5” man is not all there mentally.
Question for someone who knows about Russia...
Who would be in line to seize power and force him out?
Anybody else mentally substituting “Barack Obama” for Putin in the first sentence or two?
How does this stuff get past editors?
Another option would be to cause a major crisis which would drive up the price of oil, say fund a jihadi attack on the Saudi oil fields, or something similar.
So the Russian economy drops 5% in GDP? That’s not a threat to his rule.
“Putin has blasted the West for what he feels is a U.S.-Saudi alliance to depress oil prices”
This is probably true. Takes care of a whole bunch of problems for both countries. Iran, Venezuela, Russia...
Even though he continues to be widely popular in his own country,...
This is probably based on his VERY HIGH polls!
If you lived in Russia, how would YOU respond to a poll question about Putin?!!!
So in other words he may get throw back in a car take off Siberia right like overthrow Russia tsar
Say what you want but Putin makes me feel safe. He’s a good calculater of risk unlike like our affirmative action thug.
We are playing extremely dangerous game with him. Geographically Russia is much closer to the Middle East than we are. Logistically if they were to make a move on the Middle East they would be able to support their supply lines a lot easier than we would.
