Feinstein: Torture report is about us, not enemies, and we must enact reform
The San Francisco Chronicle ^ | December 12, 2014 | Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA)

Posted on 12/14/2014 9:44:29 AM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

On Tuesday, a five-year review of the CIA’s detention and interrogation program was finally made public, drawing back the curtains on a very dark period of American history. The purpose of making this report public is simple: to ensure something like this can never happen again.

The 500-page executive summary that was made public is part of a larger 6,700-page review of a CIA program that included clear examples of torture, far outside the bounds of American values.

It’s important to remember the study is based on CIA’s own records: 6.3 million pages of the CIA cables, memos, reports, e-mails and other documents. These records from the very time the actions took place — appear extensively in the report’s 38,000 footnotes.

Many of these records were disturbing, at times deplorable....

The report is for your enemies. The torture is done for your country.

I wouldn’t even call it torture. Enhanced interrogation is a good term. Torture is what America’s enemies engage in, and it’s a lot worse than waterboarding and sleep deprivation.

The country which does not use enhanced interrogation to get information from its enemies in order to save lives is derelict, IMHO.

Watch for DiFi to roar back,

“Don’t like my attitude? How about I confiscate all your guns, you evil rightwingers!!”

Hasn’t worked before but it’s her trademark, the evil treasonous beyotch.

Doesn’t the dumb bitty realize that as a woman and a Jew that she would be a prime target of these terrorists? It takes a special kind of stupid to be that suicidal!

and we must enact reform

Curious that she advocates enacting reform now. What has she been doing since 9-11-01?

That is report being released this week was nothing more than a grenade the Dems lob in the waning hours of their control of the Senate.

It worked for them. The report and terror torture are back in the headlines and on all of the news talk shows all week.

Many on Capitol Hill are feigning ignorance -- again. Recall a couple of years ago, when the topic again made headlines, Pelosi claiming she never was consulted or informed about the elements of the issue. Then, numerous others contradicted her and pointed out that she was in those consultations.

Again, we see the same politicians making a political issue of the topic and claiming they were never informed.

Ok, so the next time the terrorists attack us, don't call the CIA to protect us, call the democrats.

This is not about torture. This is about the CIA spying on the senate committee that "oversees" them. And I'm not sure I trust either group.

Feinstein is putting her criminal political party before her being an American.

This human trash and other ilk just like her will take down this country, cost Americans their lives and our safety just because they hate Conservatives.

Nice legacy.

The Torture Report is just chapter 1 of the latest Demrat
distraction novel. As the GOP led Senate starts to catch up
with the Obamastration scandals the Rats and their media toadies will continue to distract the populace. We need to
prepare ourselves for more chapters. Iran-Contra revisit?
Dig up new Watergate stuff? Teapot Dome scandal?

Feinstein: Torture report is about our power and shutting down possible sources of opposition, not enemies, and thus we must enact reform in order to get as many of those dangerous CIA agents killed as possible and eliminate intelligence co-operation from our allies.

I think this is a historical first.

Never before in history has a country committed suicide, willfully.

personally I think that Pelosi is a few points higher on the IQ chart than Di-Fi.

which is truly pathetic given that Pelosi has an IQ somewhere between 65-80 at best. IMO

Oh no my FRiend, the Dems started the serious phase of Death by a Thousand Cuts back in June of 1973 when the Dem congress passed the Case-Church Amendment after the Church CIA hearings.

Jan 1973 Operations Linebacker I and II B-52 ops had the NVA on the ropes. General Giap was removed from command. Paris Peace Accords were signed handing a de-facto victory to Republic of Vietnam and USA.

All of which were negated by the Dem bloodletting exposure of the Church CIA hearing and the Case-Church Amendment, which forbade ANY US involvement in SE Asia as of Aug 15. The Dems smelled a possible coup d’etat in the making with the Watergate scandal and thus were emboldened to act. Watergate begat Ford and Jimmy Carter and all the other ills that followed.

With that the Russians massively increased material aid and the NVA unhampered stepped up attacks and violated the Paris Peace Accords.

Pol Pot and his psycho teen horde started stacking bodies in the killing fields of Cambodia. Add the 3 million dead Laotians, Cambodians, and South Vietnamese that died in re-education camps to the rivers of blood that drip from the hands of the congressional dems, some still seated.

No, treason, abandoning allies, and crippling our defenses are an old game to the Dems. Not new, but business as usual.

She & all the other Demorats HAVE committed TREASON.

Trying to keep the USA safe from another wave of bombings or airplanes into our buildings isn’t a game of “Mother, May I please ?.....” or “Captain, May I?”

Putting together a ‘report’ that does NOT even interview the players is beyond the pale.

When the SHTF, Di Fi won’t have far to run. Nor her treasonous allies.

Indeed, who needs Snowden.

At least the interogations left a legal footprint, unlike the secrecy behind the IrS scandals and Obama’s birth.

If she truly believes it was torture she MUST push for criminal prosecution of those who administered the torture. “Reforms” is not justice.

Push back against their political hyperbole. Make them admit they are exaggerating their concern.
