Yes - Lithgow Small Arms Factory L1A1 Self-Loading Rifle. Yes, a lot of guns were sold to the government in the late 1990s buy back. Some of those guns were ones people were no longer allowed to own, but in many cases, they were voluntarily surrendered in exchange for a fair cash price.

I didn't hand any of my own in, but I took in some for an elderly neighbour. He could have kept them, but he no longer used them and he preferred the cash (selling firearms was complex for a private person, so it was hard to get a fair price - the buy back made that possible for once)

Nice. There's a lot of those over here made up from parts, but less than 200 genuine (and legal) all-made-by-Lithgow examples are here. They were made after most regular production had ended. They retailed for $1550 when new and go for about 4-5 times that now.
