WASHINGTON -- One person was killed in a crash involving a stolen ambulance in Greenbelt, Maryland, on Sunday.
Mark Brady, a spokesman with the Prince George's County Fire Department, says that an ambulance from the Branchville Volunteer Fire Station was coming back after dropping a patient off at a hospital in Montgomery County when they saw a vehicle run off the Capital Beltway near Interstate 95 at about 5:30 p.m.
When they stopped to help, Brady says, the driver of the vehicle attacked two of the ambulance crew, kicked them out and stole the ambulance.
The thief drove the ambulance on the Inner Loop of the Beltway and got off at the exit at Kenilworth Avenue, driving west on Greenbelt Road. The ambulance then crashed into a sedan, then was involved in a 7- or 8- car crash in the parking lot of Joe's Crab Shack, at 62nd Avenue and Greenbelt Road.
Corporal Nicole Hubbard, of the Prince George's County police, says that a man and a woman were in the sedan. The man in the sedan died of his injuries. The suspect is in critical condition; the woman in the sedan is in stable condition.

For goodness sake! I thought that the baby Prince George of Great Britain was involved in an ambulance crash.
OMG, I thought it was precious little Prince George, son of William and Kathryn, grandson of QE2.
Yikes! The original headline was more clear: “Ambulance stolen, crashes in Prince George’s.”
So a guy they tried to help carjacked them.
I’m sure it’s a fine upstanding citizen who didn’t to nothing ever.
