Olympics now banned from any country restricting spread of homosexuality

A decision Thursday by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) will apply new restrictive anti-family pressure on nations wanting to host the Olympic Games. On December 8, the IOC unanimously approved a wide-ranging package of 40 recommendations, the Olympic Agenda 2020, that includes a rewording of its anti-discrimination Principle 6 clause to include a reference to "sexual orientation" as a protected category.

Hosting the games, or ‘belonging to the Olympic movement’ as its styled by the IOC, “requires compliance with the Olympic Charter and recognition by the IOC." Thus, countries hoping to host Olympic Games in the future, such as the two contenders for the 2022 Winter Games -- Almaty, Kazakhstan and Beijing, China -- would not be able to implement laws restricting homosexual proselytizing such as those enacted by Russia, or other measures aimed at limiting the spread of the harmful sexual behaviour.

The Principle 6 clause of the Olympic Charter will be amended to state that "any form of discrimination with regard to a country or a person on grounds of race, religion, politics, gender, sexual orientation, or otherwise is incompatible with belonging to the Olympic Movement."

During the Winter Games held in Sochi, the Russian law banning homosexual propaganda aimed at children became a rallying point for homosexual activists bent on disrupting the Games.

However, prior to the commencement of the Games, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that while homosexuality itself is not a crime in Russia and homosexual people were welcome to attend the Sochi Olympics and could "feel safe and free" during the Winter Games, he warned them to “leave children in peace.”

"We don't outlaw anything and don't nab anyone. Our law prescribes no responsibility for these kinds of relationships unlike laws in some other countries do,” he said. “The games will be held in complete compliance with the Olympic Charter, without any discrimination on the basis of any characteristic," Putin added.

The IOC seemed at the time to be satisfied with this assurance, stating that, "The Games themselves should be open to all, free of discrimination, and that applies to spectators, officials, media and of course athletes. We would oppose in the strongest terms any move that would jeopardize this principle."

"To that end, the IOC has received assurances from the highest level of government in Russia that the legislation will not affect those attending or taking part in the Games," the IOC said.

At a press conference following the approval of the Olympic Agenda 2020, IOC President Thomas Bach touched on the contentious homosexuality issue without actually naming it.

"Some of the recommendations were not easy for certain members to swallow," Bach said. "Some may have hoped for no recommendation or a different recommendation on a specific issue."

"So it was encouraging that regardless of their individual interests or positions, they were determined to make Olympic Agenda 2020 a success. Speaking of the members, I have a great deal of respect for them to do this,” Bach concluded.

They Olympics hasn't been about amateur athletics for decades (even though that was their whole purpose to start with), so I guess we shouldn't be surprised if they start pursuing leftist agendas that don't even pretend to be about athletics.

Let the bullying commence. I coulda sworn we had some sort of push against bullying. Then I remembered that bullying is A-OK in certain liberal endeavors. Only conservative ideas and ideals are considered bullying. Libs are just taking a “commonsense” stance.

I can think of a whole new category of events the perverts could compete in, but I won’t go there.

I’m pretty much done with all international anythings. The UN, the Olympics, the G8...on and on. We get nothing from them and they attempt to suck money and jobs from the US.

Why don’t we just make homosexuality an Olympic event and be done with it?

homosexual proselytizing

The fact that they need so many euphemisms should be telling people something.

And the "proselytising" is almost always physical in nature. They don't exactly hold seminars or write books.

(And the "future converts" are almost always underage, or naive, or highly insecure. The law used to protect such people in the past, but now we apparently protect the wolves instead of the sheep.)

This is going to spell the death of the Olympics. The countries are not going to change. They will just stop participating, or have their own Olympics.

Well, at least, we won’t be seeing the Olympics being hosted in any Islamic country.

Personally, this is the final straw as far as the Olympics are concerned.

They used to be such a big deal. Now I'd rather watch the shopping channel.

Who gives a smelly Obama?

The olympics are corrupt.

The only thing differentiating a gold medal winner from a non starter is the amount of undetected drugs they are able to inject or ingest.

I hope to be alive and kicking when the pendulum begins to reverse course on all things liberal.

As per usual, I volunteer, no....BEG...to operate the guillotine.

There was a story not too long ago about how the number of countries that can afford to sponsor an Olympics is extremely limited. They never reach break (let alone turn a profit) for the host nation and city, are all about which place can and will pony up the $$$$ for a prestige event.

This now removes Russia and China from the list of potential hosts. Probably a few other former Soviet and Asian nations as well.

Functionally, this creates a much larger problem for the Olympics in finding a suitable and willing host, than for the nations that will be denied the privilige of pouring their treasuries into a white elephant event.

I think 1976 was probably the last great Olympics.

In 1980 Carter got the bright idea that not going to the Moscow games would somehow get the Soviets out of Afghanistan, what it actually did was destroy lifelong dreams of many American athletes.

In 1984 the Soviets boycotted the LA games, there were some bright spots but it was still impossible to shake the feeling that any victory was a little hollow if the commies weren't competing.

By 1988 was okay but nothing really stood out and by 1992 the pretense of amateur athletics was abandoned completely with the US "Dream Team" (which was a great basketball team, I just don't think it had anything to do with the spirit of the Olympics).

It won’t be long before the perverts kick their demands up a notch.

Soon they will want grade schools and high schools to make an actual homosexual experience mandatory.

There will be an abundance of adults volunteering to assist with offers of hands on experience and guidance.
