No capital punishment in Australia, unless I’m mistaken.
They have some terrible serial killer cases down there that have gotten prison terms.
They don’t even have “life without,” at least as far as I can tell.
Irrelevant in this case, as the man is dead, but we certainly do.
Most life sentences carry a minimum term (sometimes quite a low one), but a person can be sentenced to "the term of their natural life" and classified as "never to be released".
