“I have one of these:”
OK, but don’t Australians have to prove that they have a need for a firearm before the government will permit ownership?
Or am I wrong?
(Not to cause offense, I admire Aussies. Just wondering).
You have to write a reason on the form. Theoretically they can check. I'm sure they do sometimes, especially if they think somebody is lying for some reason.
Too bad there isn't a way to recognize the build-up to such action and do a prevent. The current "system" is about as useful as restraining/no-contact orders.
Best solution is to give the Aussies their guns back and encourage them to carry them...
Thank you for your candid responses to my questions.
I recall some years ago some dire warnings FRom Australian and British citizens about the dire consequences of their government’s severe restrictions on gun ownership. We were advised to not allow America to proceed down that path.
We FReedom lovers should thank God and our Founding Fathers every day for the Second Amendment!
Good luck to you and your mates. I had the privilege of serving with several Australian (and British) Naval Aviator exchange pilots back in the day, and thoroughly enjoyed my time with them and their families.
Merry Christmas!
