I have one of these:
and one of these:
I find constant claims by Americans that Australians are disarmed rather puzzling.
Do they now have concealed carry in Australia? News to me. If only one of the hostages had a gun and used it on the perp, perhaps the perp would not have used a shotgun to kill two people and wound others. He would have died fast and the cops would not have been involved, except for clean-up.
It would be interesting to know what it took in terms of time and effort to attain them. Did your previous service in (I believe) the Navy make it easier? What is the process involved?
I’m in New Mexico USA and purchased 5 handguns at two stores in a total of less than a half an hour. (The stars aligned back in the day when I was collecting Smith and Wessons). I’m just, as we say “Joe Schmoe”.
Thank you for the info.
You may have guns, but are you and your law abiding countrymen able to carry them on your person for use in self defense?
“I have one of these:”
OK, but don’t Australians have to prove that they have a need for a firearm before the government will permit ownership?
Or am I wrong?
(Not to cause offense, I admire Aussies. Just wondering).
