Most journalists (left and right), Freepers, TV anchors, etc. don't understand the archane rules of the Senate. It is possible, as smart as he is, that Ted Cruz made a stupid mistake. Any one can make a mistake. I am sure it was unintentional. I have yet to see a cogent rebuttal from Cruz on this. I think they are all listing the principled stance he took, which we don't disagree with, instead of addressing the question about tactics.
Please point me to a Ted Cruz rebuttal on the tactics if you come across that. Thanks.

Or maybe, just maybe, everyone, including Ted Cruz, realizes that Harry Reid was going to push through those nominations anyway and the normal traitors in the GOP-E were going to approve the nominations, just like they always do.
This was no tactical error. It was a brilliant chess move on the part of Ted Cruz to get everyone on record.
