Now I want to go see the movie.
Gee.... this would lead me to believe that the hackers are from North Korea. I didn’t know they even had the internet in North Korea.
Best P.R. ever!
Is anyone else starting to think maybe the studios are just spinning this into a PR campaign at this point for a crappy movie?
I find it nearly impossible to swallow that the source of this breach has not been discovered by this point, and shareholders of Sony should be asking some serious questions as to why so much valuable property was left where it was accessible in the first place.
I live next door to a movie theater. I hope they screen “The Interview”, I will definitely buy a ticket just to tick off the Norks.
If Sony Pictures were smart they’d send Kim Jung Un a gross of Twinkies and move on.
Theaters should give out free Kim masks.
The Norks’ heads would explode.
I’ll still wait for the Torrent
This is interesting. Terrorists denouncing fake terrorism in a movie, and threatening to hurt people (I see no death threat)? Who are these people? They have got to be agents of some government.
F-The N. Koreans.
Anyone think this rhetoric ISN’T from North Korea?
Do it.
That many DDOS’s will open you up to a mousetrap by White Hatters.
Perfect! Setup a fake theater, advertise heavily, taunt the scum, load the theatre with the viewers as SWAT personnel only, and wait. A flycatcher!
Now that I think about it.
They are going to have to know an awful lot about how each system works, their firewalls locally, at the WAN or Metro and then insert themselves into a VPN.
Sohhh, for instance, if it’s SUYFY theater chain they are going to have to break into them first and distribute to each node, with knowledge of topology of each node.
Or....They could simply break into SUYFY Corporate and re-mark there...Hmmmm....
If they are on MPLS I’d like to see that trick though. Not sure how that would be possible if they segregate the machine to the WAN only, with no other connection possible.
Then again, if they marked up the originals and SONY distributes they could, maybe, do it from there but, SONY only needs to take their vault version and re-master.
Guess I’ll go to the theater and watch what looks to be a pretty lame movie anyway...just to see.
If they are successful I’ll demand a refund and go see what I wanted to see in the 1st place.
Should I be worried when I rent this movie from Redbox?

It is interesting how when a movie maker insults North Korea, a nation that could actually do us a good deal of harm, no one seems to bat an eye when they freak out.
But when a movie maker makes fun of muslims, he is thrown in jail, rebuked by our government and blamed for a terrorist attack.
If they do carry out their threats of attacking movie theaters I wonder if North Korea will be blamed or if Sony and Seth Rogen will get the blame.
Time for a preemptive strike on the Norks.
