The establishment should run a unity ticket, with Jeb as VP and heir apparent to his ‘sister-in-law’ Hillary, as its best chance against the Warren insurgency from the left and the Cruz one from the right.

would vote everything *BUT* the President if he were on the ticket.

That's what I did this past election. If a squish was our candidate, no vote.

Maybe we have this all wrong, Jeb just said he was exploring the possibility of running for president... he didn’t say for which party!

Jeb for President.. as the DEMOCRATIC nominee!

ROFL

"...provided that person is sane and doesn’t vacation in Thailand with NAMBLA..."

I know we live in a sick world, but I found that clever and funny.

Jeb Bush won’t win for one and only one reason. He is a Bush. The rats so tarnished the Bush’s name from 2000-2008 that no one in their right mind will vote for him.

And as Big Al so poignantly put it, “Stay out da Bushes.” or was that Jackmo that said it?

The Establishment will be running too many candidates. Votes will be split among Bush, Romney, and Christie, opening the way for Cruz.

Think of voting for Jeb as an "act of love"......

Heaven help us if he is the nominee.

I read the entire article; very good. I kept waiting for the author to say who he thought would be the best candidate for the GOP to nominate, in 2016.

That’s what I’m afraid of.

I actually don’t think he would be a horrible president. Certainly not as bad as Obamanation. But we will never know because he would be a horrible nominee. At least as bad as Dole, McCain and Romney.

Jeb Bush as nominee guarantees Fauxahontas Warren as President.

Please not another Bush for president Haven’t we in America suffered enough with the Bush Dynasty. Look we got rid of the Clinton Dynasty, The carter Dynasty has failed miserably with the second carter presidency - Obama. Another Republican Lyte we do not need.NEED SOMEONE STRONG WITH A BACKBONE, BALLS ARE OPTIONAL. BUT SOMEONE WHOM HAS THE TENACITY TOO STAND UP AND CLEAN UP DC. What washington needs is thorough cleaning Lobbyists to be escorted to the shore put in a ship and sunk.

Why do you think that the Republican Establishment wants to nominate him? They are aware of his chances of being elected. They know the media will savage him. They want him nominated because it will help the Democrat to being elected. Jeb Bush also knows this and is going along with it.

The only way to keep Bush off the ballot is to defeat him in the primary and that’s going up against the establishment’s money.

And Cruz is reportedly doing everything he can to cuddle up to the money men.

I realize money is a prerequisite, but I've often wondered if a conservative candidate could eschew all large contributions and crowd-source his campaign financing to the base.

If Cruz or Palin run, I will donate the maximum amount, and campaign in person, both things I have never, ever done before.

No. Jeb Bush will not be POTUS.
If he becomes the ‘Pubbie presidential candidate, the real question is, “Will our next President be Hillary! Clinton or Elizabeth ‘Fauxchahontas’ Warren?”

Jeb Bush? Is the country THAT bereft of leaders that we need to revert to some sort of dynastic succession? As of now, my money’s on TED CRUZ. Why this fascination with the quadreniel presidential BEAUTY CONTEST when we need to focus on putting good folks into our STATE LEGISLATURES and the national House and Senate.

While he MIGHT have been a darling to Florida and national conservatives, Jeb Bush is married to a native of Mexico (Columba is the daughter of a migrant worker). And before you scream “ethnocentric bigot” at me, there’s nothing inherently wrong with that. Love knows no bounds.

George P. Bush is Jeb’s kid. Both he and junior are ALLEGED to be Republicans (RINOS?) but they are probably afflicted with a form of cultural schizophrenia, having a foot (or other body parts) in both cultures which may partially explain WHY they’re pushing AMNESTY. They’ve forgotten that THEIR loyalty SHOULD be to el Estados Unidos (sorry, the United States) and they swore oathes to the Constitution HERE, not that of Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Paraguy, etc.

And why the Pubbies are falling all over themselves to court the 16.4% (50,477,594) of allegedly LEGAL RESIDENTS who call themselves Hispanic is beyond reason. And that a number of Pubbies are hell bent on hiking that number by another 11 to 20 MILLION NEW VOTERS, a large percentage of whom — conditioned to the freebies and other goodies supplied over the years by BOTH parties — WILL BE DEMOCRATS, causes one to question their sanity.

Memo to the GOP: With a number of exceptions, the bulk of the hispanics already here are NOT Pubbies and the new ones won’t be either. Do you clowns have a DEATH WISH??

Between the invasion from the south and the Muslim invasion, any vestige of European culture — the culture MY great-grandparents and probably yours brought here after standing in line at places like Ellis Island, being interrogated, proving they had a “sponsor”, being deloused and recorded — will be a distant memory – IF it’s remembered at all.

And if — in some strange and metastasizing American desire to return to a royal family dynasty — Jeb or his son should win the White House in some future presidential beauty contest designed to divert the American electorate every four years, I’d bet that HIS activities toward this alien invasion will make W’s behavior look like a warm-up exercise.

All of that said, ya’ gotta wonder about why Rand Paul is making the same sort of pro-amnesty noises.

Bracing for FLAMES from the Bush people in here.

I can’t take another Bush or Clinton. My money’s on Cruz, Palin, or Walker. But first we have to realize we are cornered by the GOPe on one side and the Democrats on the other - both have big money and special interests. We will eventually have to decide whether to go our own way (third party) or choose the lesser of two evils again. What’s it going to be sooner or later? Fight or run away from the game?

While we are deciding, first let’s get rid of Boehner and McConnell when the new session starts and get some conservative leadership in the House and Senate. Then, let’s get kick ass whips like Tom Delay to start working those special interests representatives to get with the program. Finally, let’s have new committee assignments seated with intelligent people (who don’t think Guam will sink into the ocean) and new legislation to see if some of the big money still goes to supports Bush or Hillary or whoever.

I remember back when the House and Senate wielded power and used it over the special interests. It may be foolish to expect faces to change but change must come, otherwise nothing is going to change.

Dang! Once again, nobody will be on the ballot worth voting for in the big columns. Looks like another third-party or write-in election... My nose has too many clothespin injuries already, screw voting for the lesser of two evils. They're just evil, and not even very good at that.

Cthulhu in 2016.
