Because Northern Virginia, NoVa to locals, has become a part of the Northeast Corridor. The area is now Yankee Country, this coming from a native NYer now living in Central VA. They brought with them their crazy Liberal politics.

We desperately need to cut off North Virginia and let it be it’s own state and it can elect all the Marxists it wants......
