Things have gotten better, both Obamas agreed, but there’s still more progress to be made.

“The small irritations or indignities that we experience are nothing compared to what a previous generation experienced,” President Obama said. “It’s one thing for me to be mistaken for a waiter at a gala. It’s another thing for my son to be mistaken for a robber and to be handcuffed, or worse, if he happens to be walking down the street and is dressed the way teenagers dress.”

Maybe your "son" shouldn't saunter down the middle of the street with stolen blunts and crawl into a cop car and go for his gun. Maybe your "son" shouldn't sneak around apartment complexes looking like a robber, bash people's heads into cement sidewalks and go for the neighborhood watch's gun. Maybe your criminal "son" should have learned from his past offenses not to continue breaking the law over and over and over again. Maybe your "sons" shouldn't loot, burn down businesses and destroy their neighborhoods.
