I can see that. I had a neighbor before I moved who was Cuban and born in America. He really didn’t have an interest in Cuba but when his Mother came to live with him she often talked about Cuba and Castro. Her wounds were not healed while her son had none. As much as she excoriated Castro, she regaled us with stories of pre-Castro Cuba with much pride. I absolutely agree that given the chance to return to the Country of her memories, she would have left a powerful draft.

My mother-in-law would go back in a heartbeat, as would most old-timers.

God heals all wounds eventually. There’s a specially place for Castro and his minions who did what they did in the 50’s.
