If he resigns, a woman who is even more radical than he will take his place until a special election is called.

exactly. the rich white folks will be safe, and those neighborhoods that are currently high crime areas will become war zones.

de blasio couldn’t have screwed this up any worse if he had tried.

Just send me to hell or to New York City;
It’d be ‘bout the same to me.

-If Heaven Ain’t A Lot Like Dixie-

If heaven ain’t a lot like Dixie
I don’t wanna go
If heaven ain’t a lot like Dixie
I’d just as soon stay home

I was one of the chosen few
To be born in Alabam
I’m just alike my daddy’s son
I’m proud of who I am
I went through a lot of good women
And shook old Jim Beam’s hand
If I never see the pearly gates
I’ve walked through the promised land

If heaven ain’t a lot like Dixie
I don’t wanna go
If heaven ain’t a lot like Dixie
I’d just as soon stay home
If they don’t have a Grand Ole Opry
Like they do in Tennessee
Just send me to hell or New York City
It would be about the same to me

“CDS enforcement by patrol is on life support as it is and total arrests have dropped by about 90% where I work.”

This is how the politicians justify the fairy tale that “crime is down.” No arrests, no crimes.

I remember a movie (can’t remember the name) about a mom and daughter lost in New York and being chased by some bad people. Every time they would find a phone to call the police they got a recording telling them please hold and the wait time. Lol
Funny how movies come to life.

New York has had mayors who resigned to flee the country to avoid indictment (Walker and O'Dwyer).

Walker, a Tammany man, resigned after horrendous scandals involving the NYPD and the judicial system when three men whom Walker couldn't touch triple-teamed him out of office: Cardinal Dennis Patrick Hayes, the Catholic Archbishop of New York, Judge Samuel Seabury, who was the dean of the Republican Episcopal establishment, and Franklin Delano Roosevelt, who was the Governor of New York.

In the next election in 1933, Fiorello La Guardia, a Republican, won by forming a fusion ticket, and his eventual legacy was the destruction of Tammany Hall.

And when criminals go on sprees, the police will be blamed for not doing their jobs. They’re in a no win situation. Morale must be awful.

“exactly. the rich white folks will be safe, and those neighborhoods that are currently high crime areas will become war zones.”

And innocent folks in high crime areas are not allowed to protect themselves in times like this in NYC.

Every citizen in NYC needs a gun. The police have no legitimate say now (or ever again) about gun control, having unilaterally withdrawn from effective policing for their own protection. Neither does the mayor, having screwed the pooch on this, too.

The mayor should be nervous about a rogue cop going Jack Ruby on his sorry azz.
