My youngest daughter just joined the ever-increasing number of Americans who have lost their health coverage due to Obamacare. She received a letter from her insurance carrier indicating that the individual policy with which she was eminently satisfied, and that she could more or less afford, would no longer be available after the end of the year. In its place, the insurer offered a plan whose premiums will be nearly double what she has been paying for the cancelled policy. Her monthly premium was $127. The premium for the replacement policy, if she can find no alternative, will be $243.

I have noticed some healthcare.gov ads that state low premiums and even ‘no’ premiums (subsidized, but they don’t say that). They don’t indicate the amounts of deductibles, however.
Subsidized = Taxpayer Funded
This is all a crock of Poo!
I thought insurance companies were required to reveal the maximum out-of-pocket annual cost of all insurance plans.
Did ObamaCare change that?

I don’t have any coverage either like millions of Americans and simply because of the fact that I’m white means I’ll never get it “free” like thug America but I wouldn’t want it for free; I pay my way. The bad things is Obamacare doesn’t seem to pay very much of your medical costs from those I’ve spoken to that are on it and they say it is almost worthless unless you get seriously I’ll but even then if you are up in age you don’t for sure that they’ll treat you or assign you to death row “death panel” style. Under O my wages have also considerably dropped because of his heavy handed brutalization of small business America with higher taxation and more regulation plus killing the spirit of commerce in many sectors. As a result there is no way that I can afford O’Care or it’s penalties . Hell I don’t even know if I’ll be able to afford my taxes at this point and I bet a pretty large percentage of Americans are in the same boat. Damn I hate the current “leader”ship in this country if you can even call it that.
I’m sorry you’re having such troubles, caused by our fascist idiot-in-charge. It has to be terribly frustrating.

God always provides even if it’s s scarce pickins but we manage to survive. I’ve had the same conversation with many small business owners who have had to close shop because if the horrible economy that’s been created under 0. People are much more cautious and are keeping their money under the mattress so to speak because they know their funds are one executive order away from being seized by the Communist Muslim in charge . 0’Care just sealed the deal on further killing the economy which is “great” according to the very wealthy tax base “gonna get my cut” distributors. I know where the mindset is. I used to be sort of wealthy. Financial well being or security is just a state of mind according to where your bank account balance rests at the moment. You don’t think about the suffering of others if you’re not suffering yourself. Now I had been very poor prior to becoming a little wealthy so I understood what it felt like and tried to help others in need so I’m not quite sureI completely understand the mindset of the silver spoon eliteist Fed employees or oublic servants (obviously a big misnomer these days) but I’ve been around them and know his cocky, arrogant and sell assured they are having never been knocked off their perch...I think it’s time for some target practice...

May I suggest she investigate Medi-Share or Psalm 23 ministries, they have a pretty good deal going. For a “high deductible” scenario I know their monthly rate is half of what they are trying to charge this woman.
Also WalMart and Costco are offering plans, I have heard.
Just as Obama wanted it.
The cost of insurance stinks. I was laid off in August. My COBRA is $482/month. I checked out my Obamacare options, sure I could get a lower premium $375/month with outrageous deductibles.
In the last 4 years our family’s monthly policy premium has more than quadrupled and our deductible has gone from $500 to $5,500.
