I live just south of Olean NY., a friend of mine just developed a drilling site with 15 pads, the property is on the PA/NY State line. His monthly checks were over 400,000.00 until the prices dropped, haven’t heard him piss or moan about the price drop yet.
Congrats to him! You don't see that kind of money in Cattaraugus County very often. I'm not a gas expert, so I don't know how many wells are still drilled traditionally in the Southern Tier, or where our masters in Albany exactly draw the line on "fracking" which is really just pumping pressured water down a hole.
