US urges N. Korea to compensate Sony for cyberattack (Did we say Pretty Please?)

The United States urged North Korea on Monday to admit it ordered a cyberattack on the Hollywood studio Sony Pictures and to pay for the damage it had caused. "If they want to help here they could admit their culpability and compensate Sony for the damages that they caused," deputy State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf told reporters. Washington accuses Pyongyang of being behind the hack that led to the release of embarrassing company emails and caused Sony executives to halt the debut of the comedy action film "The Interview."

Sony's a private corporation. It's up to them to have decent enough computer security to protect its assets. If they don't, they're responsible for insuring their assets. It's a business decision, not a federal issue, if they don't show the movie.

Why is the government even involved? DC, get a grip. There's more important stuff to worry about than a corporation that doesn't want to take responsibility for its failings.

Strictly from North Korea’s perspective, they have little to gain by admitting to the hacking or “brainstorming” with Obama’s gang on better security. They may say, for the price of 200 tons of winter wheat from America, they ‘might’ assign someone to look at all.

Obama hopes this is his chance to surrender to North Korea

North Korea to pay Japan? Not very likely I’d say.

Did North Korea ever give anything to Japan for sinking that ship with a torpedo (Sec. of State Hillary Clinton said ‘don’t jump to conclusions!’).

Since we still have troops in Korea, Obammy will withdraw and claim he has ended the Korean War in the same way he erroneously claimed he ended the Iraq war (long after we’d finished fighting against Iraq’s government).

Homeland security has protection of Hollywood’s intellectual property under their expanded umbrella. Seriously.

Obama’s payback to his Hollywood pals who got him elected.

Can it get more pathetic than this?

Under Obama’s watch we have gone from super-power to street beggar.

New friends around the world? Do we have even one left at this point?

Would the compensation come out of the nuclear weapons budget or out of the food budget?

Maybe North Korea can pay Sony some of those counterfeit American dollars it prints.

We will have to write them an angry letter telling them how angry we are.

Oh sure. N. Korea is going to pay 3x their annual GDP to buy off Sony who they thoroughly pwned.

Compensate?

Do the Norks have any real money to give them ( I don't count their counterfeited US currency), much less make anything else for sale other than the blood and organs of their political and religious prisoners?

Perhaps SONY would like some nice barrels of nuclear waste in exchange, or a big shipload of fertilizer, er... I mean human waste? They could probably have their pick.

Throw in orders to leave everything behind and intact to be fair.

I know they sunk a South Korean ship, I didn’t hear about a Japanese one.

Pardon my error, I must’ve misremembered it. Maybe my recollection was shaded by discussion then of Japanese fishermen. I attempted to bring up a relevant article of what I was discussing and saw it was a South Korean vessel.

I am multitasking today (building shelves and dividing time with the internet).

So then the Norks, under pressure from Obama would pay Sony with the money they extort from the U.S. taxpayers.

Smart guy that Obama. /S
