If this continues, there certainly will be a mass exodus from Dish Network.
I, along with millions of other subscribers seem to have a potential for a “Class Action” lawsuit since we have been but are now paying for something we are NOT getting. One of the MAIN reasons we have chosen Dish Network was to get the Fox news and sports channels. I EXPECT to get a reduction in my subscription fees effective Dec. 21st, 2014.
For now I will hold tight to see where this goes before pulling the plug on Dish Network all together.
Like I said, Dish isn’t stupid. They will give you something for your trouble while they negotiate.
I like that the negotiate hard. I can live with a couple channels missing for a little while.
Where I live, cable is not an option.
Of the two satellite providers, Dish is a MUCH better deal than DirectTV.
I also like that Dish negotiates hard to keep prices low.
Fox News (the Jeb Bush, Karl Rove channel) has been steadily losing my respect for some time now.
Eight years ago I cut the Dish and got an XM radio. It carries the audio of Fox News and Fox Business. I don’t get to see the legs on the news readers but the content is there for much less money.
Then when Alan Combs voice comes on, I switch to the 60’s channel.
I use Tune-in radio on my phone and hear a lot of Fox News shows. I kind of believe Dish (I use them) that Fox News is pulling their news channels to increase their sport channel price. I like that Dish gives free previews of other channels at times.
In the meantime I am calling Dish today to get some free stuff!
You got a bad deal. I called stating that I would like to cancel and I got $60 off this month’s bill and $60 off next month’s bill.
They can’t “return to normal programming”, they are no longer licensed to distribute Fox stuff. Now they can come to terms and regain the license, but of course that means your rates will go up. It’s a standard argument, happens a lot. Bad timing for Dish that it’s happened 3 times in a month, worse for them to lose Fox right before week 17 of the NFL season. But that’s business, happens all the time. They’ll settle, things will get back to normal, you won’t get a discount though.
Damn!
Good work. We’ve got 10 months to go on our 2 yr contract and will probably switch back to DirecTV.
I’m not under contract anymore, so that’s probably why I got a better deal.
That makes me feel a little better.
I was about to hire you for all my future negotiations/purchases.
Merry Christmas
FOX news back on DISH network. (Must have happened in the last 24 hours?)..
