The worst sin is not to have your sins covered when you die. The Lord Jesus Christ said "Unless you believe that I am HE" (that died for your sins) "you will die in your sins".

Dying in your sins means a life in Eternity apart from real life and from God's loving grace. It means no water (eternal thirst) no real friendships (friendships are provided by the goodness of God) and being a piece of incense on an ash tray.

Eternity can have no errors or it would corrupt Eternally. God cannot have that, so He has provided the sacrificial lamb that we can believe upon Him and escape the punishment for dying in our sins.

In the English language, I think “dying” means becoming dead. Dead things don’t live - especially apart from God, since apart from God there is no life.
