"I also seem to remember a way that you can bank your own blood for your own use. Anyone have info on this?"

It is called autologous blood donation and many facilities provide for it where there is time for advance planning involving elective surgery.

What’s the shelf life?

That’s all well and good for planned surgeries, but it’s in an emergency when you really need it.

Of course, “your” blood won’t be at the location where you need it in an emergency.

autologous blood donation

I work for a company that specializes in equipment for this procedure. Further, we make equipment that salvages your own lost blood for re-infusion during an operation.

It was this equipment that caused our company to go from small cap to mid cap.

In a way, our company success is loosely tied to the sodomite culture.

And let us never forget that AIDS was originally known as GRIDS - Gay Related Immune Deficiency Syndrome.

Gotta love Political Correctness...

I know a surgeon who kept a private pool of blood donors for his patients.

Guess he didn’t trust what was coming out of blood banks.
