Mike Rowe’s Gut Check on Ferguson-NYPD Deaths is the Tough Love All Americans Need to Hear
Independent Journal Review ^ | December 22, 2014 | Chris Enloe

Mike Rowe is again going viral, this time after he candidly answered a fan’s question about the events surrounding Ferguson aftermath and the non-indictment of Officer Darren Wilson.

The question from his Facebook wall reads:

Hello Mr. Mike Rowe. I’m a big fan and also happen to work in the lower Haight as well as live in Alameda. I have to ask with everything that is going on in Ferguson, how do you feel about the protests in SF as well as the looting/rioting in downtown Oakland?

While lengthy, Mike’s response eloquently answers not only the question posed, but also the ideological problem driving racial tension in our country:

Hi Meghan,

Last week, those very protests blocked off one of the major arteries, and as a result, I was 90 minutes late to a holiday dinner in Alameda. I apologized for my tardiness, and was told by my hostess not to give it a second thought. “It’s a small price to pay,” she said, “given all that’s at stake.” Another guest, already well into the eggnog, wondered aloud if a heart attack victim waiting for an ambulance stuck in traffic might hold a different view?

Within moments, everyone was talking about Garner and Brown, and the conversation got very political very quickly. A liberal guest said, “Look, I wasn’t there, but it seems pretty clear that both men would still be alive had they been white.” A conservative guest replied, “I wasn’t there either, but it seems pretty clear that both men would still be alive if they hadn’t resisted arrest.”(continued)

Berkeley Man Dies After Pro-Michael Brown Protesters Delay Paramedics

A Berkeley man has died thanks to protesters who claim they are protesting against unnecessary deaths. The man, who lived in a Kittredge Street apartment complex, collapsed several days ago while protests were going on in the streets around his home. Paramedics attempted to rush to his aid, but were slowed and sometimes stopped by protesters. The protesters were demonstrating in favor of Michael Brown, an African American teen who was shot and killed after he assaulted and charged at a white police officer. The protesters claimed they were in the streets to bring attention to unnecessary deaths caused by...

Mike Rowe would not make it here in Mississippi. Haley Barbour, Lanny Griffith, Trent Lott, Thad Cochran, Roger Wicker, and the Scruggs and Langston bunch would run him out on a rail for his common sense.

Both Brown and Garner would likely be alive and free today if they hadn’t resisted.

Its a fight you simply are not going to win in the street but you might win in court.

Exactly, and anyone who acts otherwise deserves everything they get.

“Look, I wasn’t there, but it seems pretty clear that both men would still be alive had they been white.”

Bill O’Reilly quoted a stat that 3 times as many whites are killed by cops as blacks. I assume that’s accurate. Might throw that out next time a liberal says something stupid like that.

The vast majority of black Americans have never broken the law.

Call me racist, but I'm not sure it's a vast majority. A majority of blacks in this country may not have ever gone to prison, but I don't think it's a vast majority.

It’s Right-wingers who “want a police state “yet it’s left-wingers who make everything they hate illegal. Got it.

I hadn’t thought about it like that, but he’s got a point. The vast majority of black Americans have never broken the law. And yet, millions of lives are now entwined with the death of Brown and Garner. That’s not fair, but it’s hardly breaking news. Minorities are constantly stereotyped and the impression lingers. Looters and arsonists run amok, and Black America suffers the association.

Isn't it ironic that it is the so-called black leaders who are the ones fostering those impressions and associations by picking thugs to make into civil rights martyrs?

There's no money in representing law abiding blacks. The funding, bribes, kickbacks, and payola comes from riling the people for these absolute losers.

Irony is that so many people who 'are wanting to do the right thing' are the same ones who empower these racists to go march in the streets and fund their propaganda.

I won't call you a racist, but you're probably lacking enough data about this to think with.

Last time I saw a stat for this, it claimed that something like 20% of all black men will do some prison time in their lives. I don't really know how true that is, as it doesn't comport with my personal experience and observations on a first-hand level.

I come from a large black family that is lopsidedly male. I also spent a good portion of my youth living in black urban areas, so I've got a pretty good sense of this.

Just looking over the black men I know (and who I have known), I couldn't put the figure any higher than about 5%. And that's only among the males. I don't know any black females who've been to prison.

It's still one out of twenty, which is plenty high, but nowhere close to a majority.

It might be a little simpler than that. There are no cases of law abiding blacks being killed by cops because they were black.

No appeals have been filed for the decisions, if I understand this correctly. Neither the Ferguson nor the NYC decision.

Race is just the vehicle. Communism is the goal.
