Ghandi was never friendly even though India and Israel were both fighting to free themselves from the same colonial power.
But, India and Israel have come to realize the obvious today, that they are forced to face and defend themselves against the same IslamoNazi enemy.
The enemy of my enemy is my friend......or something like that.
Also, India is interested in Isareli technological assistance (Isarel is very very very cutting-edge and advanced, Indian engineers learn very quickly however and wish Israeli advances they can learn and adapt to India’s needs. A natural matchup!)
and Israel and India are also trying to maintain open societies with representational (parliamentary) systems of governance. A lot of common and shared interests bewteen India and Israel today....
Israel finds it helpful to curry favor with those who favor curry.
