Apple And Samsung: Here’s What Happens When The Money Begins To Run Out
PixoBebo ^ | Friday, December 26, 2014 | Kate MacKenzie

You knew this had to happen. While Samsung and other Android smartphone vendors bask in the glory of marketshare vs. Apple’s iPhone and iPad, it’s Apple that walks away with most of the profits. Without profits, tech companies have to tighten their belts, cut back on R&D (research and development), close stores, and reduce the product line.

Guess which high profile tech company is doing all that?

If you guessed Apple, you’d be so far off the mark that you’re probably in need of public assistance for watching too much Faux News and reading Business Insider. It’s not Apple. It’s Samsung.

The Korean giant’s profits have been on the wane for a year, matched in dropping velocity only by the mostly flatlined stock price. Samsung has cut back on the number of smartphone and tablet models, reduced spending, laid off employees, and now it’s in the process of shuttering a flagship store.

Jobs was a typical leftwing hypocrite - i.e. a Maserati Marxist.

Leftists simply lack the intellect to see their own hypocrisy.

“Faux News” is something that Freepers should be very familiar with, since Freepers see it all the time used in a different area ... namely politics ... and against conservatives.

And “Faux News” applies in many different subject areas, outside of politics, and it can be different “faux news” depending on the bias of the publication and reporters in that different subject area.

Apple has a long history of “Faux News” being used against it in the “tech area” and consumer area of news. That has been evident for 30 years or so.

Perhaps you’re not familiar with this “Faux News” in these different subject areas, other than political stories.

That’s a typical technique for those who “buy into the Faux News” used in the tech sphere of news ... and of which Apple users have seen in operation for decades.

Apple users are definitely familiar with the “Faux News” used against them. You already see a lot of it in operation here on this thread ... :-) ...

“Faux News” is really the leftwing propaganda media.

“Teabagging” is really leftwingers choosing anal, perverted behavior.

Alinsky communist tactics - accuse your enemy of what you are doing.

After they produced all those defective TVs that went bad right after the warranty cutoff period and then wouldn’t honor the warranty and wanted to charge half ofehat the cust brand new I’d say they had it coming. It happened to two Samsung TVs I had and all within a short time after my wannty went out which I found suspicious. After going online and finding some (not satirical) posts about thousands of them going out in similar fashion on consumer reporting webites (in addition to seeing an article about a chip that could actually cause electronics to go defective using an embedded timer and a routine that would create an open circuit on the date programmed) I said no more Samsung. Ocurring once; coincidence or $hit happens. Two coincidences; I think I just need to stop buying their products

Putting Apple back in Steve Jobs’ hands was the best thing that the company ever did. Apple took off like gangbusters since that time. The customer base continues to expand dramatically. A true success story for the good ole USA! ... as opposed to some Korean knock-off manufacturing company ... :-) ...

You’re mixing up political faux news with tech faux news. They run in different circles ... :-) ... and Apple users are quite familiar with it, having seen it in operation for 30 years.

Steve Jobs certainly did an excellent job for the company APPLE and dramatically increased its fortunes. AND ... that’s what business is all about ... as “proof” and a “reward” for meeting the expectations of consumers — a “pile of cash”!

Yeah, I certainly wouldn’t trust a Korean company that does nothing but copy and produce knock-off products. I’ve stayed completely away from Samsung products of any kind.

you’re probably in need of public assistance for watching too much Faux News

And that's when I stopped reading the article.

Same here. Such childishness doesn't warrant my further attention.

You can put me in that camp, what a dumb thing to write in what might have been an informative article. And for the record, I seriously dislike Fox "News".

Well, I guess some folks are so driven by a “derangement syndrome” that they are beyond hope and can’t help themselves.

"He was very wise and a true, free market capitalist."

Nope.

Jobs at every chance worked to make the Apple a closed system, both of hardware and software. The original Macintosh was designed to be totally closed, with no ability by the owner to modify or change it. The market forced Jobs to change that somewhat, but at every step his impetus has always been "closed and proprietary". In the Apple universe, Wozniak was the "wise and true" open systems guy.

The other "wise and true free market capitalist" of the early computer founders was Bill Gates. It wasn't Jobs hardware and software that drove the personal computer industry to the depth and breadth it exhibits today......it was Microsoft and Intel ("Wintel"). And in fact, "Wintel" drove the technology so far and so fast that Apple ended up using the same hardware in their systems rather than the Motorola technology they started out with.

If Jobs was any sort of capitalist at all, it was of the "John D. Rockefeller" school....make and keep a monopoly.

Was Jobs brilliant....yes. Was he a technology visionary....yes. But a "free market capitalist".....no.
