Stalin said that imposing Communism on Roman Catholic Poland was as absurd as putting a saddle on a cow.

History teaches he was absolutely right.

I think that imposing the rules of law and democracy on any Islamic country is exactly the same.

We'd better build a strip of defenses with a huge wall full of missiles, cams, etc. dividing the Western world from the Islamic dirthole and let them live, die, kill themselves, etc. at their will and no immigration from there, either legal or illegal! I'm sure the price of all the necessary facilities to achieve the goal will be surely lower than the one we've already paid during the military missions.

The history of Poland teaches that any agreements with Islam make no sense. The only language they understand is the language of the brute force, just like my ancestors used in the past to stop them. Tertium non datur.

the president might be claiming it is the end of the fighting but the truth is that there still are going to be men in country. My guess is that it is going to be real dangerous for those over there because we no longer have the proper support structure in the country. I would not be surprised if the president declared it a formal end of hostilities so he would not have count the wounded and dead after this point. because I am betting it is going to be high.

Just as in our last loss against Islam (Iraq); nothing new here.

Mission Accomplished?

I doubt it. Probably just jealous. Ethically the difference is only numberical. Blow up 5 kids at the market or over 100 at school, whatever works.

The very first time that a U.S. serviceman was murdered by an Afghan soldier was when we should have removed all U.S. personnel and equipment from the country, cut off every cent of aid, and left them to be themselves.

Korea - Vietnam - First Gulf War - Iraq - Afghanistan

Damn I do appreciate the NYT news items from WWll such as today’s, “U.S. TANKS SMASH INTO BASTOGNE, BREAK SIEGE; FOE’S SPEARHEAD NEAR MEUSE DRIVEN BACK (12/28/44)”.

Helps me think back to a time when the politicians allowed the military to win.
Every one of the wars listed above was won by the military and surrendered by the politicians. Both Republican and Democrat.

Well, its all on the national credit card, so its not really our treasure. And only 1% serve, so its not really our blood either. I say they, oops, I mean we, stay.

Once again the U.S. has lost another war because of poor leadership at the top. “Leadership” who, tied the hands of our military people, squandered billions of our dollars on a lost cause, created thousands of crippled or dead Americans and now claim to have eliminated Al Quida. Note to odumbo, you are one stupid S.O.B. if you think its over.

But...I thought Clown Prince nobama said that THIS was the important war. Now the degenerate goes and loses it. Turn in that ill-gotten peace prize, nobama. May the souls of the Americans killed there haunt you and your grifter family through eternity.

Short answer: yes. Treasure and lives wasted.. Should’ve going in with a hammer, and gotten out quickly. Nationbuilding just simply does not work. When will we ever learn?
