I’m sure I’ll get flamed really bad for this, but we should’ve gone in, got the job done, then brought our military home.
The Iraq distraction was really wastedyears. We should have concentrated on Afghanistan. My son was 82nd Airborne in Gulf War I. Three months before Bush II went into Iraq I asked my son how many troops we should have if we invaded, which we did in March 2003 with under 200,000. My son said 1/2 million and he was right. He also did tours in Afghanistan in 2006 and 2013, and in 2013 said we were wasting lives and money there.
