A Gallup poll reported this week that only 23 percent of Americans surveyed each month were satisfied with the way things are going in the U.S.

The government throws many numbers into the GDP basket things like federal, state and local government spending, exports and various investment expenditures.
The sharply higher GDP number was largely the result of faster consumption 3.2 percent versus 2.2 percent despite flat or falling incomes.
Thats why Paul Dales of Capital Economics warns that even though the GDP number looks rosy, it suggests that households have had to dip into their savings to boost spending. That can last only so long.

Mr. Obama was swept into office promising an era of smart government. Instead, his administration has turned into a breeding ground of badly mismanaged bureaucracies and dysfunctional programs run by political hacks and worse.
In 2012, he campaigned on a myth that al Qaeda had been decimated and was on the run. In fact, they were metastasizing into larger and better-funded armies of the Islamic State that went on a blood-soaked rampage in the Middle East seizing large swaths of territory in Iraq and Syria and beheading American hostages with impunity.
Mr. Obamas policy was rapid withdrawal from the war on terrorism and little else, leaving behind a huge vacuum into which the Islamic State sent tens of thousands of terrorists to slaughter untold numbers of noncombatants in an all-out blitzkrieg to destabilize the Middle East.
But rest assured, gentle reader, Mr. Obama is said to be on top of it all as he hits the golf courses, beaches and luaus of Hawaii, hoping that 2015 will be a better year.
Dont bet on it.

Our Congress should focus 100% of it’s energy on getting this mofo out of office ASAP, he is beyond a disaster, but I know that will never happen because all they care about is themselves, to hell with the country.
LOL! Whose congress? Doesn’t appear that the represent us anymore.
He doesn’t care.....
We should have launched a conservative third party BEFORE the November mid-terms. Now might be too late.
If one had been launched earlier, we could have put a few conservatives into office (not the Conservatives of Convenience that we got) and erased the “fringe” smell of a new third party. By the time 2016 rolls around, we would be a legitimate contender instead of just “splitting the vote” and helping the Social-Democrats.
After the GOP sellout to Obummer, the new party would, IMHO, be attacting bigger names and bigger donors at this point. And they could act like a genuine opposition party, with a spine and a set of brass ones.
Imagine how nice it would feel to vote FOR someone, instead of picking the lesser of two (or more) evils. Does anybody on FreeRepublic seriously plan to vote for Jeb Bush? Seriously?
Hey if this works out right, Hillary can be the THIRD Clintonian plurality win for POTUS!
They aren’t asleep, they can see the writing on the wall.
Mass American manufacturing is NOT going to come back until our own government stops fu@!!ng over businesses!
Our government is trying to put on the semi-socialist cloak with which Europe Has been dieing!
Most FReepers would LOVE to see our trade changed from “screwing Americans, while helping the developing countries” (which is only half true), to HELP AMERICANS! But our own government, Republicans included, are too busy sucking up to ever country out there, just NOT OUR OWN! Until that changes, we will NEVER be a dominant manufacturing country again! !
