I hold Dish primarily responsible for killing my ability to get Fox News. After all, they have recently done the same thing to CNN and CBS. So claiming some nefarious scheme on Fox’s part is pure spin. Fox, too, is spinning, and they may be asking more for their package, but that doesn’t change the fact that Dish has been systematically canceling their providers at contract time.

Direct TV is calling me...but I get tired of changing back and forth.

No great loss. Fox went over to the dark side sometime back. They pushed Mitt Romney on us with their incessant stories about him and his family. Now they're doing the same with Jeb Bush.

Sometimes these TV channels are ridiculous. Fox News is screwing themselves. It is immensely popular and can charge what they want for advertising. If they were smart Fox News and Fox Business should be standard fare, and could probably piggyback on their local affiliates as a secondary channel. Just imagine the revenue stream from commercials. There may be an FCC rule against it but adding extra channels to bump the cost is group think.

Back when I had DISH (4 Vendors ago!) they required the most expensive package to get FOX NEWS. This is just plain discrimination, as FOX NEWS pays its own way with advertising.

“Premium Channels” that don’t carry advertising are paid for with fees.

Normal channels that DO carry advertising are already paid for and should not be considered “Premium Channels”.

Therefore, any channel that pays its own way with advertising should be included in “BASIC”.

Fox has declined with their endless re-runs of the same shows over and over.

I fired all my providers(finally) and Dish was the worst of them all; I had to call them to cancel, so they could read their scripts to talk me into staying with them: hope management listens to the call, but they probably are too arrogant to bother.

Over the air (from time to time), and Internet are gaining ground as noted by the growth of ‘cut the cord’ sites.

Even though I have my “issues” with this company, at least I have Comcast.

If Dish doesn’t have Fox by the 12th, I’m switching. Can’t take the chance of missing the Tide go all the way. Of course if they lose on the first, Direct TV here I come. I really miss Fox and loathe having to check news on CNN.

If you are not able to see Fox News here is what is happening now.

Sean Hannity is still talking loudly at all times with no modulation in his voice. Shepard Smith is annoying all with his liberal nuttiness. O’Reilly is bloviating. Gutfield is making sense.

The Fox gals are still good looking specially Carol Alt

Maybe it’s just me but I don’t miss all the people yelling at each other on FOX.

I noticed today that Dish has inserted Newsmax on 206. Decidedly right of center news without the balanced fairness. I never really needed balance or fairness. I’ll settle for the truth.

My rabid catholic brother-in-law said he'd never, ever watch FOX news. He and his wife always vote RAT because the Republicans don't do enough to stop abortion. But he did spend 13 weeks learning about Mormonism. Their logic is so twisted that it makes a rat's maze look like a straight line.

Dish claims Fox wants a 150% increase, yet, we don’t know the numbers or the deal. I mean, maybe Fox gave Dish a nice rate before with an increase to be had and now Dish wants to renege on that increase.

Charlie Ergen, owner of Dish, is a known cheapskate and is worth $15 billion. If Dish customers are paying high rates for anything it is his salary.

Oh, there’s lot more than 140,000 nasty e-mails to Dish.

Their in-box has responded “Full” every time I’ve tried to use it.

Will Fox end up buying Dish? That would be hilarious!

I loved direct tv but cancelled when i had to get a new box. They said i had to create a new favorites list to block the pay per view channels. I said cancel the sub and i spent the hour or two it would take to do that doing something constructive. only occasionally miss it. watching a netflix movie now. will start my pepper plants later tonight and i get a most of my news here. only occasional yelling.

Got a letter from Dish today, saying they are raising our rates again. It’s only been a year since they did that.

Dish is THE worst about this kind of BS: they do this ALL the time. It’s why I switched to DirecTV a couple of years ago after being with Dish at least 15 years, namely Dish dropped the AMC channel line up then.

Since then, I’ve never looked back, even though DirecTV is a bit more expensive. I like the GUI and functions of DirecTV better, and like the fact that they attempt to start and stop program recordings when the programs actually start and stop instead of on automatic half hour boundaries like Dish always used to do.

I wish more people would get up off their lazy butts and switch from service providers who pull these kinds of stunts. It’s really the only thing they’re going to pay attention to, namely mass numbers of customers fleeing to competitors.
