Maybe Harper Collins should start making customized maps to please others besides Muslim dictators.

For example, as a Conservative, nothing would make me happier than to look at a wall map of the U.S. every day with the state of California removed. As an added bonus, California could not only be replaced on the map by the Pacific Ocean, but little off-shore oil rigs could be drawn in by the map-maker to cheer us up even more.

One does not simply change an Atlas for local preferences.

Not with ten thousand cartographers could we change this map. It is folly.

Hey. What’s your problem with California? I live in California and we’re not all fruitcakes. With the exception of Los Angeles, San Francisco and Sacramento most of this HUGE state is conservative.

57 moslem countries and none of them can produce an atlas on their own?

Did Harper-Collins find any moslems who could even read?

Harper Collins should have stepped aside to allow publishing houses in the Islamic states publish these atlases.

What? no Islamic publishing houses? But how can that be? perhaps they have too many other publishing projects ahead of a mere atlas.

What? They don’t produce literature? Textbooks? Maps? Art? Architecture? Medicine? Music? What are we missing here. Everyone knows of the Islamic intellect that has contributed much to today's world.

Why back in 1873 an Islamic gentleman named Meomar Mukgash invented the condom which utilized the intestines of a goat.

The design stood the test of time in Muslim nations until 1916 when an improvement was made by an English inventor, Sir Malcomb Thistlewaite. It wasn't really much a change he merely removed the intestines from the animal.

The same is true of Oregon, but seriously, wouldn't you rather be in Texas?
