Jeb Bush Sheds Corporate Commitments To Help 2016 Presidential Run [Another Disaster?]

Jeb Bush Sheds Corporate Commitments To Help 2016 Presidential Run The former Florida governor is quitting a host of boards mindful of the damage done to the Republican challenger Mitt Romney by his business interests in 2012

Jeb Bush has so far been unapologetic about his support for issues such as common education standards and immigration reform that are unpopular with the Republican base. Dan Roberts 1 January 2015

New Year resolutions often involve weight loss, but Jeb Bush, who has already shed an estimated 15lbs since starting his run for the White House, has instead opted to jettison some heavy financial baggage.

As the clock struck midnight on Thursday, and with Mitt Romney’s failed 2012 campaign still ringing in many Republican ears, the former Florida governor’s team quietly announced that their candidate was resigning from a slew of corporate boards and private equity interests that could cast a shadow over his presidential bid in 2016.

Technically, Jeb Bush – son of President George Bush Sr and younger brother of President George W Bush – is still only “exploring” whether to seek the Republican nomination. But severing his many business ties means forgoing millions of dollars in consultancy earnings and is likely to prove almost as indicative of his determination to follow in family footsteps as did his announcement of a fundraising committee last month.

Disentangling the extensive business interests that Bush has built up since standing down as governor in 2007 has not been a simple exercise. His first major resignation – as an adviser to Barclays following its purchase of Lehman Brothers – was confirmed by the British bank three weeks ago, after questions were raised about whether it and other controversial relationships could prove his achilles heel.

I guess there are only a few families that are “qualified” to run America, Bush, Clinton, Kennedy. No other prospects are alive according to the media. With Jeb it’s a no brainer. The dumbocrats will not buck him as he is for common core & immigration as well as other dem policies. If he ran & won they can work with him. If he loses they get Hillary & are happy. Either scenario is bad news for our nation. The lame stream media will give him a virtual pass on this theory & demonize all other runners. The sheeple will vote accordingly & we will really be screwed.

Actually, you are probably correct in that assessment. Ford was actually a better guy by far. And most unfair, while he is seen as a stumbling klutz, he was probably the best athlete to ever hold the office.

Jeb Bush? Is the country THAT bereft of leaders that we need to revert to some sort of dynastic succession? As of now, my money’s on TED CRUZ. Why this fascination with the quadreniel presidential BEAUTY CONTEST when we need to focus on putting good folks into our STATE LEGISLATURES and the national House and Senate.

While he MIGHT have been a darling to Florida and national conservatives, Jeb Bush is married to a native of Mexico (Columba is the daughter of a migrant worker). And before you scream “ethnocentric bigot” at me, there’s nothing inherently wrong with that. Love knows no bounds.

George P. Bush is Jeb’s kid. Both he and junior are ALLEGED to be Republicans (RINOS?) but they are probably afflicted with a form of cultural schizophrenia, having a foot (or other body parts) in both cultures which may partially explain WHY they’re pushing AMNESTY. They’ve forgotten that THEIR loyalty SHOULD be to el Estados Unidos (sorry, the United States) and they swore oaths to the Constitution HERE, not that of Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Paraguy, etc.

And why the Pubbies are falling all over themselves to court the 16.4% (50,477,594) of allegedly LEGAL RESIDENTS who call themselves Hispanic is beyond reason. And that a number of Pubbies are hell bent on hiking that number by another 11 to 20 MILLION NEW VOTERS, a large percentage of whom — conditioned to the freebies and other goodies supplied over the years by BOTH parties — WILL BE DEMOCRATS, causes one to question their sanity.

Memo to the GOP: With a number of exceptions, the bulk of the hispanics already here are NOT Pubbies and the new ones won’t be either. Do you clowns have a DEATH WISH??

Between the invasion from the south and the Muslim invasion, any vestige of European culture — the culture MY great-grandparents and probably yours brought here after standing in line at places like Ellis Island, being interrogated, proving they had a “sponsor”, being deloused and recorded — will be a distant memory – IF it’s remembered at all.

And if — in some strange and metastasizing American desire to return to a royal family dynasty — Jeb or his son should win the White House in some future presidential beauty contest designed to divert the American electorate every four years, I’d bet that HIS activities toward this alien invasion will make W’s behavior look like a warm-up exercise.

All of that said, ya’ gotta wonder about why Rand Paul is making the same sort of pro-amnesty noises.

Bracing for FLAMES from the Bush people in here.

Good Lord ,another Bush? Another Clinton? We're doomed either way. Hillary is on record as saying that corporations do not create jobs and the there is her famous"What does it matter at this time" quote regarding her involvement in the massacre at Benghazi.I wouldn't be at all surprised if Jeb Bush demanded reparations for for Mexico because Americans defended the Alamo. While I'm at it,could someone please show John Mc Cain the door?

Gerald Ford was far from being the klutz that the media made him out to be.Chevy Chase admitted that he portrayed him as being as being a clumsy buffoon on Saturday Night Live because he didn’t want him to be re elected.Alas, things did not end well for Mr.Chase.He was given his own T.V.show and failed miserably..He was off the air in a matter of a few weeks.
