The Israeli’s have had an official set-up, for years, where you can go to Israel and help the Israeli Army in a non-combat role for 1, 2, or even three weeks at a time. About 1,000 Americans a year, show up for the limited amount of slots. Being Jewish is not required.

It’s called “Volunteers For Israel”, and is an official Army program.
