What is wrong with making sure the poor chickens that supply you eggs have a decent life? Just because the chicken farmers don’t want to do a little exercise, these poor birds are supposed to exist stacked upon each other pooping on each other existing just to provide eggs for fat people? No. I agree with this law and animal lovers the world wide do too. Chicken farmers, move into modern times.

“What is wrong with making sure the poor chickens that supply you eggs have a decent life?”.....

And we all know what happens to those chickens that are NOT destined for laying eggs for a living, they end up at KFC, Chick-Fila and other “fine dining” establishments across the nation. Those chickens don’t get larger quarters to “stretch their wings”. Idiots make stupid laws.

Okay. You pay the extra for your eggs. I’d love to have chickens roaming around like my grandparents did...but the coyotes would love it, too, and I don’t need cougar bait around the place.

When a chicken can ask me, in clear and concise English, that it wants better conditions, I’ll listen.

Then I’ll chop it’s head off, and cook it.

If YOU want to pay more, go right ahead, and buy from a source that raises eggs your way. I prefer effective and cheap. . .

I agree with you. Healthier chickens mean better, healthier, high-quality eggs for us. Yeah, they’ll cost a bit more, but the long-term benefits will outweigh that cost. I notice the chicken owners on this thread don’t appear to have their chickens locked up in cages too small for them to move in.

This is a good thing.

FReepers are really gonna flip their lids when similar requirements are passed for cows.

How much is enough room for the chicken?

You are an idiot; they are livestock, as long as they are not treated cruelly they are there to serve a purpose, not to have spa treatments.
If I let my chickens run free range up here they will just be eaten by the coyotes, foxes and bears.
So whats better; the coop or the coyotes belly?
