If he becomes Speaker with Dem votes, the charade of the Uniparty will be over. I don’t think he wants to open that particular Pandora’s Box.

That’s exactly right! However, to these people, power trumps optics, and he’ll do what it takes to hold his position, as oligarchs always have!

It's only hanging on by tatters:

  1. the ObamaCare debacle certainly indicated the uniparty
(i.e. letting the Democrats pass it, then Republicans refusing to not fund it)
  2. Fast & Furious
(ATF gunrunning, violating treaties at the very least; Republicans make a show of the Democrats "blocking" them... but do nothing to press the issue.)
  3. IRS Political Targeting
(Again, Republicans make a show of the Democrats "blocking" them... but do nothing to press the issue.)
  4. NSA and domestic-espionage
(Odd split: both republican and democrats join together in defending and supporting the practice.)
  5. Border-Security in-general
(The Republicans rattle sabers yelling build a fence to appease their base... but do nothing to press the issue, in effect allowing the Democrats to set the policy.)
  6. Amnesty (specifically)
(Even before November the Republican party was showing how much they want it… the only reason they're not openly pushing is because their base actually believes that they're for border security!)
  7. National Debt
(Republicans talk and talk about fiscal responsibility… yet they are all fine passing bills funding all of the federal government.)
  8. Confiscation and Redistribution
(The Republican party supports the War on Drugs, and especially Civil Asset Forfeiture, which is government confiscation; same as the radical Democrat.)
In short, there really isn't much left to distinguish the two parties apart other than [perhaps] the rhetoric they use to address their people.
