Thanks for clarifying the date and when Hawaii entered as a state. I’ve wondered about that but never thought to look it up.

As to 0bama, I don’t know if he was born in Hawaii or not and there’s evidence both ways. I do not believe he is or should have been eligible to be president. One, I have read the arguments after the fact but if one reads earlier explanations and associations concerning what’s a citizen, it is less clear. For example, children always fell under the citizenship of the father, not the mother.

I don’t think Obama is eligible either. Not that Congress could sink any lower in my view, but it is amazing that the subject of dual citizenship at birth was never discussed, but McCain’s being born outside of the US was.
