Thousands of NYPD cops turned their backs on Mayor de Blasio on Sunday outside a Brooklyn funeral home as he eulogized a murdered NYPD officer inside.
As de Blasio addressed the loved ones of Detective Wenjian Liu in the Aievoli Funeral Home in Bensonhurst, the sea of blue watching the funeral on huge TV screens outside showed their disgust for Hizzoner by turning around as he spoke.

For the most part, I despise unions, but in the case of cops, their union does protect them from the slimy politicians who are quick to toss cops under the bus if they think it scores political points. As for pay negotiations, every worker would be better off without unions, they just don’t realize that. Unions assure that everyone is paid the same, so there is no reward for doing an exceptional job. Not sure what the answer is in the case of cops and firefighters.
Say what? The officers have to follow orders that come from these two, they certainly are not required to respect them.
Respect is earned, not required by law and de Blasio in no way has earned the respect of these officers.
Absolutely! Most people who become cops do so because they feel called to the job. Yes, they could quit, but they feel a responsibility to protect the citizens in their cities and neighborhoods. Watch the show Drugs, Inc. on Nat Geo. Depressing, but it shows how dedicated cops are in trying to put a dent in the destruction that the drug trade is causing in our cities and towns. It also demonstrates why cops need so much military style equipment. The cartels are armed with some wicked firepower.
Those Officers have every right to express their disgust with the lack of leadership being exhibited by the miserable administrators at City Hall and 1 PP. Unbridled incompetence cannot hide; this mayor and his drivel has to go.
God bless our men and women in blue! They are the thin blue line that saves us from the savagery of Obama’s sons, Holder’s people, and DeBlasio’s commies.

Please. That may have been the case in years gone by, but in my experience, it would seem that a lot of police are in it for the money and benefits, not to mention the "perks" that come with carrying a gun and a badge.
