My child is a chef who worked at a very high end restaurant in DC. Booked full of politicians each and every night at $250++ per person. Some come ONCE A WEEK. Nuff said. Totalitarianism is the order of the day.

Thank you for contacting me in regards to the Speakership. I appreciate hearing from you.

As you know, when the House convenes for a new Congress the first order of business is to hold a roll call vote to elect the Speaker of the House. Each party nominates a candidate who must receive a majority of all the votes cast.

On January 6, 2014, I supported our Conference’s nominee, Representative John Boehner for Speaker of the House. I understand you are angry with this decision, but the hard truth is the Conference already had elections for Speaker back in November. During those elections, Representative Trey Gowdy nominated Representative John Boehner for Speaker. Since no one else came forward with another nomination, our Conference unanimously voted for Representative Boehner to be Speaker. If anyone wanted to offer another choice, this was the opportunity and the time to have a family feud between Republicans. The decision by others to run for Speaker at the last minute was purely political opportunism to get publicity. This has only further disrupted and divided our Conference at a time when we need to be united to stop this lawless president, reinvigorate the American people and this economy.

Please know that there is no greater honor than serving the hardworking Hoosiers of Northern Indiana. If you would like updates on the actions I have taken in Congress, please visit my website at www.walorski.house.gov to sign-up for my e-newsletter. Thank you again for contacting me.

Who made any noise at that time? And the vote was not held then, it was held last week. This sounds like political doublespeak to me, classic CYA...
