I came across this article while perusing this one:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/the-fix/wp/2015/01/05/the-boehner-for-speaker-whip-count/
The ‘Boehner for speaker’ whip count
By Aaron Blake
January 6 at 9:55 AM

At least 29 House Republicans would have to desert Boehner for him to lose another term as speaker.

But it’s also becoming evident that he’ll probably lose more votes this time around...

That 29 number, we would emphasize, is a minimum. Boehner needs a majority, so if some members don’t vote, Boehner’s threshold for winning will be lower than the usual 218 votes — as it was in 2013, when it was 214 votes. So if some of these Boehner opponents vote for nobody — as Labrador and Mulvaney did in 2013 — that hurts Boehner less.

Update: As Politico reports, at least 12 House Democrats are skipping the speaker vote to attend former New York governor Mario Cuomo’s (D) funeral. That increases the threshold for pushing Boehner to a second ballot to 35, making him even safer...

If conservatives will be the death of the GOP, as all in the leftist media have been telling us for years, then why would the democrats try to help Boehner? (Rhetorical, of course)

The cowardice of the House Republicans now does not bode well when it comes time to stand up to the Chicago gang in the WH.

Boehner has enough allies — upwards of 100 — who have privately vowed they will never vote for another candidate for speaker besides Boehner. That would make a so-called compromise candidate almost impossible to elect.

After the second ballot or so (and promises from compromise candidates), these allies will relieve themselves from this "private vow".

if Democrat voting activity is giving Boehner the speakership, the mask is removed.

I could easily be in error, but I think there was more opposition in the run-up to the vote last time.

When the vote came in, all of the people who said they would vote no, voted yes.

Power corrupts from the top down. Always.

Politico tries to help Boehner so he can be an easy target for the Democrats. It’s in the tubes for them and readily figured out.

RINO’s voting for Bonehead is not a surprise.

What I will be watching are the GOP hacks who pretend to be conservatives. These fake conservatives will be exposed today.
And let the primary season begin!

Remember when Pelosi allowed “moderate” Democrats to vote against Obamacare once she had enough of a margin to secure passage?

Part of me wonders if that’s what Boner and the other GOP elites are doing.

I was listening to Beck through an ear-bud as I walked the dogs, Chris Stewart called in and I embarrassed myself by loudly blurting an outrage before I caught myself. Chris Stewart sounded like a pathetic, little whining pansy! Sheesh! We’re so screwed.

This is 2011 all over again. Full of noise and fury, signifying nothing. But at least FreedomWorks will raise some cash off their lying emails: “We’re just 9 votes away from firing Boehner.” Idiots.

My child is a chef who worked at a very high end restaurant in DC. Booked full of politicians each and every night at $250++ per person. Some come ONCE A WEEK. Nuff said. Totalitarianism is the order of the day.
