An interesting tactic they could use, is to vote in unison. Without the 60 conservatives, Boehner would be powerless. He couldn’t whip up the votes needed for anything without them, and accordingly, they should band together and carry out their campaign promises to de-fund Obamacare, and de-fund Obama’s immigration illegality. If Boehner refuses to listen, they should simply vote present on anything he wants. They could effectively block anything from moving in the house, and the RINO’s would have to come to terms, if they want to pass anything in the future. The simple fact that Boehner took retribution on the conservatives who voted against him, should be reason enough for them to band together.

However, things were still shaking out in 1797, and it is at the very least questionable whether the House had the constitutional power to impeach Blount. The most commonly accepted opinion, with which I agree, is that the “civil officials” referenced by the Constitution as subject to impeachment are appointed by the President, not directly elected. (Or, in the case of Senators at the time, appointed by state legislatures.) So any executive branch official or judge can be impeached, but not reps or senators.

Since reps can be expelled by a 2/3 vote of the House, it would seem really odd to impeach by a simple majority of the House and then turn trial over to the Senate for a 2/3 majority. This would give the Senate power over the House, which the Constitution gives to the House itself.
The House can remove and replace its Speaker, anyway, by the same simple majority vote with which it could impeach him.
Impeachment of Boehner would also seem problematic because one would have to charge him with specific “high crimes and misdemeanours” rather than simple differences on policy. If Boehner has committed crimes of this type, so has probably at least 3/4 of the House.
I’m conservative, just not willing to answer dumb question that are totally irrelevant. Impeach a congressman? For what crime?
I saw that on Drudge! He is trying to rub our faces in his win, but doing it by kissing Pelosi actually has the opposite effect. How can anyone kiss her, except her own family. He is telling us he is planning to screw conservatives and cozy up to Pelosi.
If he wanted to extend an olive branch, he would have his picture taken shaking hands with his challengers and telling us he got the message. Taking away committee assignments shows us that he is not going to try and mend the fences.
We understood what the poster wants — A NO CONFIDENCE VOTE.
And I wouldn't be surprised if Boehner hasn't committed an impeachable offense. I think the information that he invested in companies who would benefit from ObamaCare could raise questions of an impeachable offense. He doesn't strike me as an honest man. He lied to us about stopping ObamaCare and amnesty.
The House can expel members, no impeachment necessary.
Yeah. I didn’t word my question as well as I should have. I was just looking to get Boehner removed as speaker. Who knows; maybe he got the message. Time will tell.
I don’t think he got the word. Word is that Boehner railed against the Tea Party behind closed doors of the meeting of GOP members. Outside he talked unity, inside he seethed with hatred against the GOP base (at least 60% of GOP voters). We’ll be standing long after Crying Johnny had his last cry.

Boehner really needs to be demoted back to a regular house rep. We need someone with a spine and who understands how to use the majority in the House and Senate to the best advantage.
How can we make this happen?
Well, you could "Harry Reid" him off his treadmill.
All you need is a majority of the Republican Caucus to vote Boehner out.
Well; the other day bonehead announced his resignation. No telling how much damage he will do since he has given himself a month to really screw things up on the way out.
At least he is leaving. It will be a Pyhrric victory if McCarthy is the new speaker though.
