Not everyone needs medicine at any given time. What these people are missing is the sort of “normalcy” where you could walk into a place like McDonald’s — or any place, really — and get something you wanted.
This is a good thing. The more Venezuelans who find out they’ve been had by socialism, the better. Maybe the population of some other country flirting with it will look to Venezuela and say, “No thanks!”
Maybe even Americans will....?

Even during the guerrilla war in El Salvador one could walk into a McDonalds and get good food and good clean service. Most afternoons there were lower middle class birthday parties going on for young children.
The mainline media refused to acknowledge that a huge middle class existed in El Salvador and preferred to depict it as peasants and 14 rich families. But in those “working class barrios” there were video rentals, plentiful shops, and well-fed and well-groomed people.
