Purge them? Are you kidding? That will never happen...the moderates support them via every Mosque and Community Center they establish in their host nation.... The gunmen are simply the military wing of Islam.

I'm not saying Islam is a religion of peace.
But if you're saying that millions of non-violent people must be murdered (all who practice Islam) then it's you who is delusional.
National Socialism was obliterated without killing every single German. And yet Germans still practice plenty of socialism.
Turning into the same kind of mass murderers as the savage animals we fight is not the solution, and the civilized world will never follow that path. Live it. Learn it. Love it.
So we all had better hope that Radical Islam can be reformed, because destroying 23.4% of the world's population (or whatever the exact percentage of Muslims is) will not happen. You DO know that there are Islamic countries with nukes, don't you?
We can rant and rave about Extreme Islam all we want, but turning into the enemy is simply not a realistic solution.
Whether their religion is one of peace or not, there are many many millions of Muslims who would be happy to practice their admittedly backwards religion, without feeling the need to murder infidels. What we're dealing with is a particularly virulent strain of Islam. There are and have been virulent strains of other religions as well, including Christianity, which didn't require indiscriminate slaughter to end their dominance.
So, to reiterate, I, for one, don't believe Islam is a religion of peace by any stretch of the imagination. But last time I checked, believing in peace is not a requirement for any religion...
