I think it was a message from O. Couple a years back I beleive it was right before the vote for the health care bill his wife and daughter were involved in an accident I think it was in Washington. I have always believed that it was done on purpose to make him get in line.
The vote took place right after the incident or accident and Reid has been a bastard road block from that point on. This is just my opinion.

Jim that was actually my first thought when I saw this story about an exercise injury.
It seemed more likely that an employee of his real boss named Tony paid him a visit.
