Honestly I cannot say I disagree, I have been trying to teach my 15 year old son (his mother is french and he attends an all french school and is well aware of the situation) for the last 12 years that he is responsible for his actions - how can I tell him CHARLIE bears NO RESPONSIBILITY for the results of 20 years of attacking other peoples religions (Christian Jewish and Muslim) with nasty viel liable slurs? Frankly, I am a little surprised I feel this way about this incident.

As a Christian I am secure enough in my religion and beliefs that no one can attack them. As long as the “art” doesn’t involve harming children, animals or non-consensual adults I just turn my back to it. Who in the world have ever heard of this magazine prior to these events? I can choose to view the “art” or not but in no way can I choose to kill the creators.

“how can I tell him CHARLIE bears NO RESPONSIBILITY “
That’s easy. Tell your son he has no right to rape a girl just because she “dresses like she’s asking for it”, no more than writing cartoons lay responsibility for being murdered.

Truth is simple but rarely easy.
People have to be allowed hold what ever opinion they like without being in fear of their life. This means sometimes you are going to be offended. Learn to deal with it with shooting people.
