If they raise the gasoline tax, they should use the money to subsidize shale oil development and NOTHING else. US shale oil can’t compete against Saudi oil at this price. I would support a gas tax hike if they used the revenue to keep shale oil production up.If they raise this tax, they should be put out on the streets.

Gas tax is per gallon and when the price goes down more gallons are sold.
